At twenty two
there was Greg,
his pock marks
rising toward me.
We were living together then,
his T.V. blasting through the night.
I said I was gay,
packed and left one day
to nestle in coffee shops
with a funnier man.
Half a year later -
describing the abortion
to my mom with her swimming eyes,
shivering jellyfish jaw,
while eating homemade pudding.
Twenty years later,
ice inside my dead right foot -
sweaty nights screaming
